The Company’s Roth® Grand Cru Surchoix also places in the Top 20 Cheeses in the World
FITCHBURG, WI, March 4, 2022 – Emmi Roth took home four awards at the World Championship Cheese Contest this week, including two Best of Class wins and the honor of placing in the Top 20 cheeses in the world.
Roth® Grand Cru Surchoix, an alpine-style cheese from the company’s Wisconsin-made Roth brand of cheeses, scored 99.825 in the Washed Rind/Smear Ripened Hard Cheeses, Extra Aged (Over 9 months) category, ranking it Best of Class and putting it into the Top 20 cheeses. Roth Grand Cru Surchoix, made at Emmi Roth’s creamery in Monroe, Wisconsin, is a former winner of the World Champion title six years ago at the 2016 World Championship Cheese Contest.
The company’s Roth brand also was recognized as Best of Class for its Roth Creamy Havarti, which scored an impressive 99.07 points in the Havarti category. Roth Pavino also took home a second-place award in the Washed Rind/Smear Ripened Hard Cheeses, Extra Aged (Over 9 months) category and a third-place for Roth Grand Cru Reserve in the Washed Rind/Smear Ripened Hard Cheeses, Mature (Less than 9 months) category.

Emmi Roth is also celebrating the win of a traditional cheese they import from Emmi Group in Switzerland – a third-place award for Emmi Emmentaler AOP, which scored a 98.6 in the Rinded Swiss Style category.
