Roth® Cheese Celebrates Recent Awards for Goudas, Creamy Havarti and Gorgonzola

Roth® Cheese, Wisconsin makers of award-winning specialty cheese, recently took home three awards from the Wisconsin State Fair for its Aged Gouda, Gorgonzola and Creamy Havarti, and a first place award for its 3 Chile Pepper Gouda from the Green County Fair.

Recent wins include a variety of cheese types and flavors perfect for a summer cheeseboard.

 

This year, Roth® cheesemakers and supporting teams brought home the following awards: 

First Place, Wisconsin State Fair: Gouda & Edam Category  Roth Aged Gouda. This cheese is made with fresh, local Wisconsin milk, then cured for at least six months in the Roth Cellars in Monroe, Wisconsin. 

First Place, Green County Fair: Pepper Flavored Natural Cheese – Roth 3 Chile Pepper Gouda.
A colorful trio of chipotle, habanero and jalapeño peppers add a south-of-the-border twist to this award-winning cheese. It boasts more smoke than spice, and is balanced by a soft, buttery texture for depth.

Second Place, Wisconsin State Fair: Blue Veined Category – Roth Gorgonzola. This Italian-style blue is aged 3+ months for a full earthy flavor and pillowy texture. Inspired by the delicious cheeses of Italy, this buttermilk gorgonzola has an assertively piquant flavor and complex, peppery finish that’s not for the faint of palates.

Second Place, Wisconsin State Fair: Havarti Category – Roth Creamy Havarti. We took the best Wisconsin has to offer and made it even creamier. Traditional cheesemaking methods, fresh milk and premium ingredients make this extra-creamy Havarti so special.
