Ingredients
- 1 tsp olive oil
- 1 tsp fresh garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup sweet onion, sliced 1/4′ thick
- 1/2 cremini mushrooms, thinly sliced
- 1 tbsp butter, softened
- 4 slices sourdough bread
- 8 slices roast beef, thinly sliced
- 2 tbsp barbeque sauce
- 6 slices (6 ounces) Natural Melt™ Creamy Fontina
Method
- Heat oil in sauté pan over medium high. Add garlic, onions and mushrooms. Cook for 3 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from pan and reserve. Wipe pan clean.
- Butter outside surface of 2 slices of bread. Layer beef onto unbuttered side of bread, top with barbeque sauce, 3 slices Natural Melt™ Creamy Fontina, onion mixture and another slice of bread (buttered side out). Repeat for second sandwich.
- Heat sauté pan over medium low. Cook sandwich until cheese is fully melted, approximately 4-5 minutes per side. Serve with warm au jus for dipping.
